The following is a follow-up email sent to UGA students, staff, and faculty regarding the previously-reported assault:
Over the weekend, information was sent to the campus community concerning a stabbing incident which occurred on the University campus. One person is hospitalized and another is under arrest in connection with that incident. This is to inform you that the UGA Police and the Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating two additional, separate incidents involving a knife being pulled on someone. At least one of these incidents occurred after persons witnessed a confrontation between two parties and tried to intervene. The second incident that occurred on the UGA campus also has resulted in an arrest. We reiterate to students, faculty and staff that if you should become involved in a confrontational situation you should contact law enforcement authorities for assistance. While we encourage members of the community to get involved if they see criminal activity and applaud those who do so, the best way to get involved is to contact law enforcement and describe what is occurring.
